Year 2 Sensational Food Incursion!

On Thursday the 21st of March the Year 2s participated in a fun and engaging workshop where students went on an adventure through the senses. They explored a range of vegetables and fruits and investigated how they could learn to like them. Many activities were designed to evoke curiosity about vegetables and fruit through the five senses and build food literacy. Here are some photos from the da

Year 5 Camp Fun Reflections

At camp, we did a lot of activities such as kayaking, gaga ball, soccer, mafia, and many more. We had a night walk but a lot of people were upset because they missed all of their parents. Miss O'Keefe told us about drop bears when we were on our night walk, everyone was saying it’s fake. Carlos M and Samuel didn't believe it. When we went back we all sang and celebrated Mark, Yousif, and Charlotte's birthday. We all had a fun time at camp and we want to thank all of the staff and Miss O’Keefe for coming and planning all of the camp stuff. Another thing that everyone said was there were dolphins and they saw the dolphins. They went in the deep and it was true and we went kayaking and past the yellow poles. Everyone was so brave that they saw the dolphins - Samuel B 5C

On Wednesday morning, all of the year 5’s were going to camp. Once we arrived at Don Bosco, the leaders introduced themselves and said where we could go, and where we couldn’t go. Then we all got free time to choose whether to play gaga ball, mafia, soccer or volleyball. There was lots of equipment to play with like soccer balls, frisbees, volleyballs, gaga balls and hog balls. Then, we celebrated Mark from 5A's birthday. We had a few more activities then we went on a nightwalk and walked on the pier. Then we went back to camp and ate cake to celebrate Mark's birthday. The next day occurred and then we all got up and changed and went to Safety Beach and played lots of games. We then ate morning tea, chips and a slice of watermelon,  finally we went kayaking!! But whilst kayaking… we saw dolphins!!!! Then we went back to camp. We all showered and Susie thankfully made us hotdogs! They were delicious. Then we did some activities and we all ate butter chicken curry, honey chicken, rice, some salads and vegetables. Then we did lots of trivia! Then the next day sadly came and we had to leave camp. We were all packing and changing, and then once we finished, we all ate breakfast and put our luggage on the bus. Then we all sat on the bus and made our way to the Enchanted Garden!! We went on tube slides and did three mazes! Then we went back on the bus to say hello to our parents. Then we arrived back at school! - Manuela 5B

On Wednesday morning all the year 5s went to Don Bosco camp. Miss O'Keefe announced who we had in our cabins and we put away our bags into our cabins, then all the leaders introduced themselves and we had some free time until they told us to come and eat. We all had a sandwich. We did some activities. For dinner, we had pasta and bolognese with a side of garlic bread and salad. For dessert, we had cake and ice cream because it was Charlotte's from 5B, Mark's from 5A and Yousif's from 5As birthday. Before we had cake we went on a night walk to the beach and we walked along a pier. The next day all the teachers woke us up and we got our swimsuits on under our clothes and went for breakfast. When Mrs Vella told which classes were going first to the beach it was Mrs Vella and Mrs O’Keefe's groups that went to the beach while the other kids were at the beach. People still at camp did activities and had morning tea. Mrs Vella's group did fun challenges in the water and Mrs O’Keefe's group did some kayaking and we all saw some dolphins! That night, we did trivia then ate ice cream and went to sleep. The next morning we packed our bags, had breakfast and went to Enchanted Gardens. We had a great time! - Lord 5B.

Hi, my name is Isabella and last week the year 5s went on camp for 2 nights and 3 days.  When we got to Don Bosco, we were all filled with excitement. We got to play Mafia, volleyball and soccer and we all had a blast! The lunch was amazing. We had chicken rolls and they were so good! Better than any other chicken. We tried a lot of things, some were challenging and some were scary but we had a lot of fun. We loved meeting the camp leaders. On the second day, we all went kayaking one group at a time. We got to see stingrays and dolphins and everyone thought that the dolphin was a shark because of its fin. We also did painting and we all loved it. Our paintings looked so good! Thank you to the year 5 teachers and leadership for making camp possible and a BIG thanks to Miss O’Keefe for sorting out the cabins. Thank you for listening - Isabella 5A
