Fernhill Visits

🌟👵🧑 Celebrating Intergenerational Connections at Fernhill! 👵🧑🌟

We are thrilled to share that our Year 5 students have been visiting the residents at Fernhill Age Care, and the experience has been nothing short of heartwarming! The students thoroughly enjoyed their visit, and we're excited to announce that this wonderful initiative will continue into Term 2.

The joy and connection shared between our students and the residents at Fernhill have been truly special. Witnessing the bonds forming across generations has been immensely rewarding for all involved.

This intergenerational approach not only brings smiles to the faces of our students and the residents but also fosters empathy, understanding, and a sense of community that transcends age barriers.

A heartfelt thank you to all the students, staff, and residents who have made this initiative possible. Your enthusiasm and spirit of companionship make Fernhill Age Care a brighter and more vibrant place for everyone.

Let's look forward to many more meaningful interactions and moments of shared joy in the upcoming Term 2!

🕯️✨ Embrace the Spirit of Lent at Sacred Heart! ✨🕯️

As we enter the season of Lent, we are reminded of the importance of reflection, sacrifice, and renewal. Lent offers us a special opportunity to deepen our relationship with God, grow in compassion and empathy, and make positive changes in our lives.

During this sacred time, let us remember the significance of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. Fasting encourages us to detach from material comforts and focus on our spiritual nourishment. Prayer connects us with the divine and guides us through our journey of self-discovery and transformation. Almsgiving calls us to extend our hands in generosity and solidarity with those in need, embodying the love and compassion of Christ.

At Sacred Heart we encourage our students, staff, and families to embrace the spirit of Lent by:

  1. Reflecting on our actions, attitudes, and relationships, seeking forgiveness, and offering forgiveness to others.
  2. Engaging in acts of kindness, service, and charity within our school community and beyond.
  3. Participating in special liturgies, prayer services, and opportunities for spiritual growth and reflection.
  4. Committing to personal disciplines that foster spiritual growth and strengthen our connection with God.

Let us approach this season with open hearts and minds, ready to embrace the transformative power of Lent. Together, let us journey towards Easter with faith, hope, and love.

Journeying Together

Sacrament preparation for families booklet

https://sacraments.melbournecatholic.org/

Journeying Together covers the sacraments most commonly celebrated with primary-school-aged children - Reconciliation (Penance), Eucharist, and Confirmation. This resource will complement your child’s sacrament preparation at their Catholic primary school or in a parish catechetical setting.

Each sacrament module includes four sessions. Each session includes an invitation to explore and integrate the family’s lived experience with concepts from Scripture, the Church and the sacraments, along with opportunities to pray together.

We hope that by opening this opportunity, many will encounter Jesus and engage with their faith in a fresh and meaningful way.
