Denise's Message

Dear Families,

A reminder to all families wishing to use our Vacation Care Program, please register with our new company Their Care.

This is our final newsletter for 2023 as school finishes next week on

Friday 15th December, 1:00pm.

Thank You

Thank you to the St Michael's families for your wonderful support throughout this year, it has been unwavering, as has the trust you place in us. Our community is a special place where we work in partnership effectively to support each of our students to reach their full potential.  When we work together we can achieve amazing things and I look forward to strengthening this partnership into 2024!

I would like to thank our St Michael's staff for their enormous dedication throughout this year providing each child with purposeful and engaging learning opportunities. They are passionate about planning learning that addresses the needs of each child in their care and I know they are so proud of what each child has achieved this year. I know that all parents are appreciative of all they do for their children. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful staff working at our school.

To those leaving our community, I once again thank you for your contribution to our community, you have each left an indelible mark on each of us.

Our Student Leaders have done a wonderful job this year representing our school and our students, I congratulate them for their efforts and the example they have left for future leaders. Our Leaders for 2024 were presented to our community at this morning's liturgy, I wish them well for 2024.

Good luck to our Year Six students who finish at St Michael's next week. I thank you for all you have contributed to our community and wish you every best wish for your adventure into Secondary School, please know you are always welcome at St Michael's.

To the families who are ending their time at St Michael's, I thank you for your contribution and ongoing support for our community. I wish you every best wish for the future and please know you are always welcome to visit.

Each year I watch our children grow and learn in bigger and better ways and I thank them for giving their very best once again this year. They provided us with so many joyous moments, our whole school performance last term and our recent Christmas Carols being just two of them. Their enthusiasm and passion for learning continue to inspire and drive each of us to do our very best and to live our Mercy belief that we can be good today but better tomorrow. The students should be very proud of all that they have achieved as we should be of them. As a staff, we are indeed in a very privileged position to support the development of each child and to share in their many milestones and successes.

I am so very privileged to be the Principal of St Michael's and blessed to be surrounded by such professional staff, amazing children, and supportive families. We have achieved so much this year and I know we can do even better next year.

Step Up Day

Today your child was involved in Step Up Day. On this day they met their 2024 class teacher and classmates. All class lists have now been finalised and no changes will be made. The teachers have put much work into determining these classes by taking into account academic and social-emotional needs, as well as friendship groups.

The children will bring home a letter informing you of the name of their new teacher. Once you have this information you must log onto the booking system for the beginning of the 2024 year assessment interviews scheduled for Tuesday 30th January and Wednesday 31st January 2024 to make a booking. This link will be available from Monday.

Student Reports

Your child will also bring home their final school report. Please take the time to read it with your child and celebrate with them all they have achieved. I know their teachers are very proud of each of them.
