The 2023 PFA Wrapped
I would like to thank you all for another year of dedicated support towards making social connections at school, either at a trivia night, making popcorn or planning events aiming to raise funds for our school.
Reflecting back on the year, we have done such a fantastic effort and the School Community has supported the activities with much gusto, which is always appreciated!
In term 1 we had our quarterly Sushi day, followed by our much loved Easter Egg Raffle, raising more than $5500 and Hot Cross buns. The second term started with the Apple and Pear fundraising followed soon after by Mother’s Day and Special Friends' Stalls and a Celebration of the Women at CPS. The Biggest Morning Tea is always an event close to our hearts and this year it was successfully organised and well attended.
The organisation of the first School Disco since COVID, started early in May, taking place and took place in term 3, bringing a fantastic event for the students. In August we saw parents getting into their Heroes and Villains costumes for a fabulous Trivia Night at the Dutch Club. During the winter months we had a very successful fundraising event that brought a dedicated group of volunteers together to Pop Popcorn. Dollar by dollar, we collected about $2,400, which is equivalent to 1200 bags sold for the students.
In Term 3, the PFA also hosted the Father’s Day and Special Friends Stall, concluding with the celebration of a bustling Fathers’ day BBQ. In October we sweetened the voters on Referendum day with delicious cakes and celebrated Teachers on their special day. Term 1 and term 4 brought refreshing Icy Poles to the students at Carnegie PS. Together they enjoyed almost 2500 units. The year is ending with a bang with Mangoes, Cherries and Fruit Mince Tarts.
At this time we would like to thank the Year 6 students that volunteered their time to help with different duties throughout the year.
Thank you to our committed members for coming to our meetings, to the extended community for filling up volunteer positions for events and for the belief that we can make a difference to our community together.
Until next year,
