Set for Secondary -

Year 6 Online Digital Journey

SESSION 2

Digital Respect and Consent

This week we learned, that as students transition to secondary school, they will encounter numerous offline and online interactions, fostering new friendships. It's crucial for them to develop skills in respectfully navigating these online connections and understanding the concept of consent by:

  1. Understanding the importance of privacy and safety rights, including seeking permission before capturing and sharing photos.
  2. Recognizing personal boundaries and grasping the concept of online consent, along with being aware of how to respond when feeling unsafe.
  3. Skillfully addressing digital dilemmas and making ethical decisions in the online realm.
  4. Knowing when and how to seek support when facing challenges in their online interactions.

REMEMBER: Consent is about respecting people's boundaries and involves giving people permission!
