From the Classroom

Zooper Dooper Friday!

Our Year 5 students gratefully accepted their free fishing kits this week and are looking forward to spending their summer by the river.

The Andrews Labor Government is giving Victoria’s next generation of recreational fishers the opportunity to get hooked on fishing, with free Little Angler Kits for kids across Victoria.

Minister for Outdoor Recreation Sonya Kilkenny today announced 60,000 kits will be made available to grade five primary students in more than 1,900 Victorian schools later this year.

The kits will set families up with everything they need to wet a line including a fishing rod and reel, line, tackle box, some tackle and a Kids’ Guide to Fishing that includes information and links to educational resources to learn the basics such as fishing safety, knots and rigs.

The kits will help youngsters get active, learn about the aquatic environment and have fun in the great outdoors whether they be down the coast, on Port Phillip Bay or by a river in regional Victoria.

It's been 8 weeks of ICan and it's been amazing, even though we've had our ups and downs everyone is still being their amazing selves. The ICan group includes: Maddi, Tyrelle, Tyson, Decklan, Kevyn and Dakota. Everyone in this group is inclusive and respectful.

The group was been run by Nicole and we’re very grateful that the teachers have taken their time out of teaching to organise this program.

The other schools we have this group were Echuca East, Echuca Primary and St Mary’s.

We think that it is an amazing thing people who have trouble with change to get used to high school.

The past 7 weeks have been on a zoom call instead of actually going to the high school like the first week.

These schools are the reason I have confidence to talk to different people and the reason I can communicate with people.

I think that it is amazing for people who have trouble with change to get used to high school. The past 7 weeks have been on a zoom call instead of actually going to the high school like the first week.

The schools doing it are Echuca Twin Rivers, St Mary’s, Echuca Primary and Echuca East.
