The Year 3 students have been hard at work over a term and a half, learning how to mix new colours and develop their brushes techniques. They invested a great deal of time experimenting with techniques such as: stippling, rolling, sgraffito, blending, cross hatching, drips & splatters, impasto, printing, masking and sponging and colour mixing so that they had a huge dictionary of resources to draw upon when they began painting their own composition.

They were able to choose their own topic to make it personal and then went about using the most appropriate techniques to convey meaning.

The results are outstanding and many agreed that they felt like a better painter as a result of the time and effort they put in.

Well done Year 3!
