Prep transition for 2024

We have had two successful transition sessions welcoming our new Prep students for 2024. They have participated in table top activities such as colouring and peg boards, they have been building block towers, listening to stories and showing how they can write their names, cutting out shapes and follow instructions. Parents have been welcomed into the community and have had an information session on supporting their child with numeracy development. Coming up our two remaining parent information sessions will be on supporting your child’s wellbeing and literacy development.

Shake and Wake

Just a reminder that our Positive Behaviour leaders are holding Shake and Wake before school near the rope playground every Wednesday (weather permitting). This encourages children to come to school on time and is an opportunity for children to be active by dancing along to fun songs with their friends to brighten their mood.

World Kindness Day

It was wonderful to see so many students dressed up in bright colours to recognise World Kindness Day and to think about how they can be kind to each other at school and to their families and friends outside of school.

World Teachers’ Day

Here at Kingswood we celebrated World Teachers’ Day on Monday (a little later than the official day). It was an opportunity for us to recognise the hard work of all the teachers at Kingswood. This year we had an Italian twist to our celebration and we enjoyed a pizza lunch with panettone for dessert with some light Italian opera playing in the background! Our teachers each received a small gift of an environmentally friendly cutlery set which was received with a smile as our staff room notoriously lacks knives, forks and spoons.

Neighbourhood Parking

Unfortunately, we have recently had neighbours complaining of not being able to drive in and out of their homes at pick up and drop off times as parents / carers are parking over their driveways. It goes without saying that this is unacceptable. Consequently, the Kingston Council will be patrolling the area and taking note of the parking situation in the neighbouring streets surrounding the school and fines will be issued where infringements have occurred.

It’s important to remember to practice our school value “Connected to Community”. Let's continue working together to make drop-offs and pickups a smooth experience for everyone. Your understanding and co-operation are greatly appreciated!
