What a fantastic evening we had on Wednesday at our Showcase and Shine school community event! It was great to see so many students, families and friends come together to visit classrooms and see the work our students have been doing through the year.
Our transition students were very excited to share and sell their wonderful products on their Super Heroes Christmas Market stall. Students have been working for some time to make the items for the stall and this has been an important part of their learning program this semester. Key learnings have included product design and production, persistence and teamwork to complete tasks, numeracy skills to price and sell items and development of communication and interpersonal skills. There were many happy customers. Well done to all of our transition students and staff!
Next Friday we will send home your child's end of year report reflecting student progress from semester 2 of this year. The reports comment on the adjustments and supports that enable our students to access their learning programs as well as their progress in each of the key goal areas. We hope that you will find these positive and informative.
Together with the student reports you will also receive a student transition booklet for 2024. This will let you know your child's teacher, classroom support staff and room number. The booklets are a great way for students and their families to talk about and prepare for the 2024 school year over the holiday break.
We are delighted to share our Croydon SDS 2023 school magazine with all families.
These will be sent home with the reports. We hope you enjoy looking through this wonderful celebration of student achievement and learning experiences from throughout this year. Thank you to all students, staff and the staff team who have put together our magazine. A great holiday read!
