It was wonderful to see so many students, families and staff attend and enjoy our students Showcase and Shine on Wednesday night. You certainly helped to make it a great interactive community event.
A huge thank you to Leanne and her family for organising our Christmas Raffle this year. Leanne has been working quietly behind the scenes throughout most of the year, collecting and purchasing items, then beautifully presenting these in 15 hampers to be raffled.
Everyone was gathered around with great anticipation for the raffle draw. Many of our students helped to draw the winners. Congratulations to the following winners: Abigale, Leo, Sarah F, Hamish X2, Tristan, Dennis, Michaela, Linda, Xavier, Jayden, Andrew, Jamie X2 and Carol.
Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket to support our school. The funds are going towards a new secondary swing.
Our friendly front office staff member, Geraldine will be leaving us to enjoy retirement with her growing family. We thank Geraldine for her work over the past 20 plus years greeting our community and visitors when they arrive at the school. She has also played a significant role in working closely with Crown bus services coordinating the school bus runs.
We would like to thank Davalin for teaching PE and in primary this year, and Ben for teaching in secondary. Both Davalin and Ben started part way through the year and have added great value to Croydon SDS. We wish them all the best in their next role.
Julie B and Leanne will be taking 12 months leave next year to pursue other adventures. We wish them well. Anna and Emma C, who are currently on leave will take another 12 months off; we hope they continue to find fulfilment in their other workplaces.

We have four graduating students this year, Siraj, Tommy, Ali and Shaun. Congratulations to these students on completing many successful years at Croydon SDS. Siraj, Tommy, Ali and Shaun have demonstrated great growth over the years and have been wonderful school leaders and role models to their younger peers during their final years in transition. We wish them a lovely graduation ceremony next Wednesday, celebrating their school journey with family, friends and school staff.
We know Siraj, Tommy, Ali and Shaun will continue their life learning and apply their skills in new adventures post school. We look forward to hearing about their future.
We also have two other students who will be leaving us this year as their families have moved out of the area. We wish Lachlan and Ty all the best in their new schools. We also look forward to hear how they are going in the years to come.
