EnviroFair

Recounts

The EnviroFair happened on the 30th of November 2023, with stalls selling things to raise money for WIRES. WIRES helps injured animals and makes sure of their safety in the wild. We started the enviro fair at 10am, and stopped selling at around 11am. Together the grade 5/6s and 4/5s managed to raise 317 dollars and 10 cents! We had many stalls, like the Stress Less stall which was very popular, and had managed to sell many stress balls. There were also many other stalls including our stall, Ecomarks, which sells bookmarks.

The EnviroFair was very fun because we got to work like we were in a actual shop. My group and I sold books. We took turns and got to go to and visit other stalls like the Rubbish Hunt, Ecomarks (bookmarks which paired perfectly with our books), stress balls, and origami stall.

This fair helped us learn academically because we learned real life skills that would help us when we get older like persuading people to buy our items. We learnt that one of the most effective ways to get people to buy our things is to repeat sentences in the advertisement as it really brings people’s attention and then when something catches their eye they will buy it.

The students worked really hard and set up stalls and raised money for a foundation called WIRES which helps animals and their habitat.

My group made bookmarks which we call “Ecomarks”. I made some clear ones with real flowers on them, Bhelissa drew some roses and other stuff on some paper and cut it it out Richelle made corner bookmarks and earth related bookmarks and Cristina made turtle bookmarks and they were pretty popular.

The other stalls were popcorn and lollies, lucky dip, raffle, cookies and brownies, origami animals, bean bag toss, trash and treasure, books and hoop shooting. All the games were really fun but my favourites were hoop shooting, cookies and brownies and bean bag toss because the prices were really reasonable and definitely worth trying.

We had turns at sitting at the stall while the others went and bought stuff .But overall the day was really fun and enjoyable and I bet every single child loved it.
