COMMUNITY SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS

Congratulations to Pippa M (1KO) who was awarded the Coaches Award in recognition of her enthusiasm, hard work and for being a great team player at netball this year.

Well done, Pippa!

If your child achieves something special (grand final win, most valuable player award, best and fairest etc.), please email me (jordan.daley@education.vic.gov.au) through photos and an overview of the achievement to post in Contact. It is important to celebrate and recognise such successes with the school community.

Your contributions make a difference to Greenhills Primary School, they enable us to supply quality resources to our students to enhance their learning.  We received 57% of curriculum consumables and online subs in 2023, we would really like to increase this back to the 80% mark received in previous years.

Thank you for your continued support—it is appreciated.

If you would still like to make a payment for 2023 this can be done via QKR under 2023 Misc Payment.

The Cabinet of Curiosities is back for Term 4

Now the days are warming up and we are starting to spend more time outdoors.  Why not look for something that interests you or sparks your curiosity to add to our growing mini natural history museum located in the office area.

Ensure you check with a grown up before you pick something up to make sure it is safe.  It doesn’t have to be an item - it could be something you have drawn or taken a picture of.  Please don’t remove any critters from their habitat for this project.

If you have something you would like to add, collect a specimen card from the office to fill out to present with your item.

* No valuable items please *

* Have fun and enjoy the sunshine*

Thankyou,

Victoria Harris.

 CONNECTED SCHOOLS

BE WHERE YOUR FEET ARE

The idea of being mindful has received a lot of attention by psychologists in recent years. It seems that mindfulness has a strong relationship with our wellbeing – and that of your children. Mindfulness is being aware of what is happening right now and remaining focused on that. It’s being present in the present. When we do this we are attentive to, and aware of, the here and now. Rather than allowing our thoughts to continually slip from what is happening now to our plans for later in the day, the experiences of last night, and any other random thought that grabs our attention, mindfulness means that we stay completely present and focused on what is occurring in front of our noses. Mindfulness requires us to ‘be where our feet are.’
