WAYS OF BEING TOGETHER: STAFF WELLBEING AT SACRED HEART

At our school, we believe that strong relationships and a sense of community are the heart of a thriving learning environment, not just for students, but for staff too! This week, our team came together for a fun and energetic game of pickleball, creating space to connect, laugh, and support one another outside the classroom. Events like these strengthen our culture of collaboration and wellbeing, reminding us of the joy in working and growing together. When our staff feel connected and cared for, it flows through to every part of our school community.

We highly recommend trying pickleball! We went to Sports Point Indoor Play (64-66 McArthurs Rd, Altona North) and it is a wonderful venue with lots of facilities - for badminton, snooker and table tennis. We are beyond grateful for the donation to use the venue from a parent, Reddy Tatikonda (Dhatri 5T and Agastya 1V).  Thank you so much, we had such an enjoyable afternoon with many laughs and some friendly competition. There is a link attached to the Sports Point image which will take you directly to the website to book your family's session!

URStrong

Sacred Heart Primary school is extremely excited to be launching the URSTRONG program with our school community in term 3.

The program will support students with exploring how to develop and maintain healthy friendships through consistent language, understanding how to resolve conflict; and display empathy and kindness towards others.

Students from Prep to Year 6 will be participating in weekly sessions and exploring many different friendship concepts, including the four key friendship facts

1. No friendship (or relationship is perfect)

2. Every friendship is different

3. Trust and respect are the two most important qualities of a friendship

4. Friendships change...and that's okay!

We are very excited to start this journey with our students and look forward to inviting families to join the URSTRONG community portal, where parents/carers  will be able to access resources to support their child with developing healthy friendships. In term 3, there will be a family workshop evening where families are invited to join the live stream with their child and discover more about this school wide program to enhance students' social and emotional development.

We will continue to provide more updates about the URSTRONG program through the school newsletter and our online platforms.
