From the Principal

This will be our final Chatter for the term as we approach the end of Term 2 and Country Week in Week 10. For students not attending Country Week, Week 10 will include:
2 days on Farm: catching up or getting ahead on practical observations and exploring Certificate III options.
2 days in Trades: completing assessments and starting major projects.
1 day with Class: participating in an off-site industry tour.
I can reassure both students and families that the program back at school will be a valuable and very worthwhile opportunity for students to get ahead.
Wellbeing Day
A big thank you to Mrs Squiers for coordinating a fantastic Wellbeing Day last week. Supporting the wellbeing of our students and staff is a priority at the College, and we appreciate everyone who helped make the day a success.
Phones
Phones are not to be used during the school day, in line with Department policy. This is especially important in high-risk areas like Farm and Trades, where phones can be a serious distraction. Recently, some students have used phones to film and share activities on social media. I’ve reminded students of the policy and the consequences for not following it.
Job Opportunities
With the upcoming retirement of valued residential staff (see Residential article), we’re creating a pool to fill Residential Supervisor roles. We’re also establishing a School Officer pool for current office admin vacancies. Click below to view the advertised positions on jobs.wa.
We continue our search for a construction trainer. If you know of anyone with any form of home maintenance, building or any trades within construction, please encourage them to call us to discuss this fantastic opportunity.
Celebrating our Students
If you missed the article in Farm Weekly about Year 11 student and 'Young Gun' Mollie's leadership development journey and promotion of women in agriculture, you can check it out here!
I will be on Long Service Leave Week 10 and wish all students a productive and successful week both at school and on Country Week, and of course a restful and enjoyable school holiday break (once it arrives).
