There are a number of events occurring in the lead up to the end of term. Don't forget the Year 9 and 10 Pathways night this evening, such a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the next few years for your child. Friday morning, we have the school tour for Foundation students in 2026, we are looking forward to welcoming you on site and answering your questions. Our Year 11 and 12 students have been spent a few days at their retreat. I look forward to hearing about their experiences and hope it was a valuable opportunity to celebrate their work this term, reflect on what they have achieved, set goals for next term and checking with their own wellbeing.
This week I visited the Foundation class who were learning about numbers. The had 7 counters, 7 animals and 7 beads on the Nija slider. They were learning how to split numbers and had to display on each of the items this split. It the number 7 was split into 2 and 5, they had to show this split by moving the beads on the Nija sliders so there was a group of 2 and a group of 5, place a line on the card showing the split, etc. these photos show they students working on the task, they have not completed it. Thanks for the very engaging activity, Mrs Judd, the class was very focussed on the task and able to show me what they were doing.
Over the last few weeks teachers have been busy assessing work, writing and proof-reading reports ready for parents and students to reflect on achievements over the semester. This is a very busy time in a teacher's year, and I thank them for the work they are doing.
