Weeding Wednesday

Last Wednesday the Grade 5 students from 5A (Samim’s) and 5B (Geoff and Lauren’s) participated in Weeding Wednesday as part of our outdoor learning program. Students learnt how some non-indigenous plants are weeds because they overtake resources needed for indigenous plants and animals. As caretakers of our beautiful school, we need to make sure that the weeds are kept to a minimum and that’s just what those responsible and industrious learners did by pulling out 16 bags of weeds from our school garden beds. The students had a fabulous time with many keen to repeat the activity soon. Thank you very much to Carli, Luella’s mum for coming along to help us. Next Wednesday, weather permitting, 5C (Renee’s) and 5D (Toby’s) will be out weed hunting and welcome any Grade 5 parent helpers to join in the fun.
