Melbourne Museum
Last week, the Prep, Year 1, and Year 2 students all went on an excursion to the Melbourne Museum. Below is what each of our grades liked the most.

On Tuesday 17th June, Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 visited the Melbourne Museum. We travelled there on the bus. Our favourite parts were the Forest Gallery, the Mamenchisaurus, the Triceratops, the Learning Lab, and going to Bugs Alive. In the Learning Lab we got to touch the frill of the Triceratops, which was very fun! At the end of the day we got back on the bus to go back to school.

The first place we went was the Forest Gallery. We liked it because it was part of nature and it was beautiful. There was a waterfall and a rocky tunnel. In Bugs Alive we liked the tarantula and also the little larvae that were cleaning the bones. In the triceratop’s area, we loved looking at the meteor. In the Learning Lab, we learned about the triceratops and how it had a big nose socket. Each group had to guess what part of the triceratops their bone came from. The bones we touched in our groups weren’t real. The triceratops fossilised bones came from America where it used to live. It was a fun day.
Jenson went back to the museum on Sunday to show his family where we had been.
2A
Last Tuesday, the Junior school went to the Melbourne Museum. It was such a great day! We travelled in by bus, it took about 40 mins! Our first thing we saw was a Giant Blue Whale. We even got to hold some of its bones. We loved seeing the dinosaurs, but then we also got to see the Bugs Alive display. Some of us liked to see the spiders, but some were really scared! We liked seeing the ant display, we put our heads in a plastic dome and we could see the ants crawling around. The best part was the education session, the teacher was so impressed that we knew so much about dinosaurs!
Students are nominated by their teachers to receive a certificate of acknowledgment. The below students' certificates will be presented at our next assembly.
