Prep

On Tuesday the 17th June, our Preps, Year One, and Year Two students attended the excursion to the Melbourne Museum. The students enjoyed the Dinosaur Education session, Triceratops Walk, Forest Walk, and the Bug Exhibit. A very big thank you to all our wonderful parent helpers and Education Support Staff for assisting on the day, and to Miss Shanae Stevens for organising the excursion. It certainly was a real highlight of the term.

In Literacy, we have been learning about the sounds that ‘l’ and ‘r’ make using cued articulation, and how to read and write the words ‘from’, ‘me’, 'he’, ‘be’, and ‘look’ during UFLI sessions.

In Maths, we have been learning about measurement and length. We compared objects in the classroom to see which was shortest and which was longest. We ordered our classmates from tallest to shortest and revised making numbers on a tens frame.

In History, we have been learning about Aboriginal ‘Dreamtime Stories’, which have included ‘What made Tiddalik Laugh?' and ‘The Rainbow Serpent'.

In Wellbeing, we have been revising the Zones of Emotional Regulation and practising the skills of belly breathing and mindfulness to help us move from the Red Zone to the Green Zone.
