Academic Integrity Policy
The importance of maintaining Academic Integrity is something we take very seriously at St Bede’s College. Ensuring our assessment is authentic and fair sits at the core of every assessment we make. In support of this, many staff from across the College have been working collaboratively to develop the Academic Integrity Policy.
This policy will be released in the coming weeks and made available to all students, families and staff. It clearly identifies states expectations for students and staff, as well as processes should there be an allegation of a potential breach, be that in Years 7 to 10 or in VCE. We welcome the clarity it will provide to all parties and look forward to maintaining the high standard that we set in regard to assessments.
Year 11 2026 Senior Pathways Expo and Subject Selection Evening
Tuesday 29 July
Term 3 is the time when students are asked to consider their subject selections for the following year. One of the most significant decisions for our students comes in Year 10 as they decide both what program they are going to undertake, as well as the range of subjects that will constitute their program.
From a program perspective, our students are choosing between VCE, which is generally a more academic pathway that leads to University; and VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM), which is centred on Applied Learning and generally leads to a trade, a traineeship or into the workforce.
In terms of subjects, the VCE students are choosing their entire program, with the only requirement that they must choose English or an equivalent (English Language, EAL or English Literature). Our College is fortunate to offer a vast range of subjects in this regard. For those students who choose the VCE-VM program, they need to choose a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course to complement their school learning and possible work placement.
These are not easy decisions as there are, in both cases, a vast array of options.
In support of our students and families, we are holding the Year 11 2026 Senior Pathways Expo and Subject Selection Evening for parents, carers and students on Tuesday 29 July.
There will be a range of tertiary institutions present, as well as stalls feauring Learning Areas of the College who provide information regarding the subjects on offer. In previous years, this evening has proven to be both very popular and highly informative. The feedback is overwhelmingly positive and, as such, we encourage all current Year 10 students and their families to attend.
Further information will be sent to Year 10 families in the coming weeks and we look forward to seeing you there.
