Selamat Siang,

What a fun-filled week we have had! In Phonics we have been learning about prefixes and there meaning. For example, sub means under or below, subway, submerge, submarine.

In Guided Inquiry, students have been creating and finalising their survival kit. They have created scripts outlining what is in their surivial kit to create and work towards filming a 'survival documentary'. Ask you child what they have in their surivial kit and why? Some items may include, First Aid kits, a woolen jumper or blanket, plants and animal products for food and shelter, a torch, a compass, water and even a radio.

Mathematics has been all about fractions, exploring fractions through collections, number lines and shapes such as rectangles, squares and circles. Check out your childs fraction museum on Seesaw!

Planning week this week meant the 1/2 teachers were busy preparing for Term 3 on Wednesday, while students had a day of specialist classes. Some upcoming events in Term 3 to look forward to are our Water Safety program, 3-way conferences, Indonesian Day, Are you Ok? Day, and so much more!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Reminders

  • Our library is open! Please ensure your child has there library book on their day.
  • Whilst Pokemon cards are a lot of fun, we are asking that these cards only be bought to school on a Friday when Pokémon club is on.
  • We are asking for students to leave small toys at home as some of the toys that have recently been brought to school are going missing which of course brings great disappointment.
  • Students are growing and at times very hungry! They are encouraged to bring some fruit/vegetables to have during a fruit break mid-morning.
