Selamat Siang,
Well done for making it to the end of term!
We started this week at our Winter Gala Day, where students played netball, t-ball, soccer or AFL. While no teams made it through to the next round, our students displayed amazing sportsmanship and had some great wins along the way! We also extend a congratulations to the Community Leaders who made calls this week to get sponsorship for their Basketball Shoot-Out! Finally, we extend a thanks to the Foundation buddies who sent hand written invitations to our Year 5 students this week!
In Maths this week, we have been exploring financial transactions. We have been calculating change and percentage discounts. Over the holidays, it would be great to practise some of these skills in real life situations! Games like monopoly are also a wonderful way to practise financial literacy in action! It was great to have the 3/4 students visit to play the boardgames we made as well :)
In English, we have been finalising our information reports based on a range of topics that are connected to our Guided Inquiry focus. Students have been researching politicians like Julia Gillard and Harold Holt, How Laws Are Made and Parliament House. This process has included a big focus on our research skills as we pose and answer questions.
Our Guided Inquiry Showcase is taking place on Tuesday afternoon this week! Please join us in 5/6 E, N and S at 3:15pm to see our political campaign displays. Students have worked really hard and learnt a lot during their incursions over the past two weeks.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead and enjoy the holidays!
