From the Office
From our Acting Principal
We are now well over half way through this term of learning and we feel like it has rocketed past. As everyone will be acutely aware we are starting to get some very chilly mornings and this is sometimes continuing into the middle part of the day. Please ensure your child comes along to school with a jumper each day and feel free to send them with a beanie and additional jacket if needed!
Raywood PS Values Award
This term we have begun to award a Raywood PS Values Award at the end of each week. At Raywood PS, our school values are Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. These values were chosen by students and our school community back in 2022 and are still a nice fit for the focus of our school.
Last Week our recipient was Evie. Congratulations!
Kyabram Fauna Park Excursion
Last Friday, the we headed off to Kyabram Fauna Park for an exciting day of discovery and an excursion that supports our inquiry learning for the term at school where we have been focusing on Native Australian Animals and Animal Adaptations. The junior students explored Habitats, Features, and Lifecycles, while the seniors investigated Adaptations and Animal Features. We came together for a picnic lunch and walk through the park, where highlights included meeting Linguini the Tassie Devil and visiting the reptile house—home to a whopping 10-metre snake!
Pupil Free Day
A reminder that next Friday the 20th of June will be a Pupil Free Day. Staff will be focusing on completing student assessment and reporting on this day. Written student achievement reports are provided twice a year; at the end of Term Two and Term Four. This term’s reports will be sent home in the final week of term.
Student Attendance
At school we are having a focus on attendance as we head towards the end of term two. It has been pleasing to hear students recognising the importance of being at school and how being away can affect capacity for learning. Last week our attendance rate was 94% which is outstanding! Thank you to our wonderful families who let us know of an absence either through UEducateUs or by sending a quick text through to the school mobile phone, at school we are required to report on absences and letting us know helps us complete these important steps.
Prospective Preps 2026
June is a busy time for transitions both to primary school for our local kinder children and to secondary school for Grade 6 students. If you are considering enrolling your child at our school in 2026, please contact our office to organise a tour of our school and see how Raywood PS could be a good fit for your child’s education.
That's all for this week- James Sait
