PSYCHS IN SCHOOLS
Starting in Term 3, Corpus Christi is excited to be partnering with Psychs in Schools, an organisation that delivers onsite, evidence-based support to students. Psychs in Schools is a service that uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to address student concerns around anxiety, mood challenges, behaviour, trauma, grief, conflict resolution, and social skills development. We warmly welcome Holly Peacock, our Provisional Psychologist, who will work directly with our students. Holly's work will be overseen by a Clinical Psychologist Jocelyn Barnett, ensuring all services are delivered safely, ethically, and effectively. Holly will be onsite two days a week - Wednesdays and Thursdays - commencing the 1st week of Term 3.
The sessions provided will be either in a small group format or one-on-one basis. To determine student eligibility for these sessions, Corpus Christi has developed its own referral process. Parents of children identified as potentially benefiting from support will be contacted directly.
As we progress through the semester, teachers will have the opportunity to up-skill their own practices when it comes to identifying, supporting and managing students’ mental health and wellbeing in the classroom, as well as gaining knowledge to advise families in taking action throughout what we know can be a challenging and confusing journey.

PEACEFUL KIDS
In addition to Psychs In Schools, Corpus Christi is excited to announce that we are also introducing a mindfulness program called Peaceful Kids.
Peaceful Kids is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children.
The program gives children the skills, practice and support to utilise coping strategies that lessen the symptoms of anxiety and stress. This program helps children to build their emotional resilience so they are better equipped to deal with the day-to-day stresses that life brings them. The program also involves parental involvement and commitment to supporting the strategies at home.
To read more about Peaceful Kids, please access the link below. At Corpus Christi, the program will operate for Grade 3 to 6 students and will be facilitated by me.
