Learning Expo - Foliage, Fur & Feather
This week we have our Learning Expo. Over the term, the students have learnt many things about their year level’s learning concept. This term there has been a focus on the Environment and Design and Technology across the levels. Below is a small snapshot of some of the work created for the expo.
Year Prep - Furry, Feathery and Fantastic!
Dive into the amazing world of animal coverings and plant features! From slippery fish scales to thick bear fur, —nature is full of cool tricks. Get ready to explore the wildest and super-powered plant parts ever when you come and visit the Prep Community!
Year 1 and 2 - Seed to Snack
You're warmly invited to our upcoming Seed to Snack Learning Expo, where our young learners will proudly showcase their projects exploring where our food comes from and the many stages it goes through—from seed to the snacks we enjoy! Through hands-on learning, students have investigated planting, harvesting, processing, and packaging. Come along to celebrate their hard work and some warm soup. We look forward to seeing you there!
Year 3 & 4 - Sustain the Chain: How Are Living Things Interconnected?
Step into the Corpus Christi Conservation Centre and explore the wild wonders our Year 3/4 students have been investigating! Through their engaging inquiry unit Sustain the Chain: How Are Living Things Interconnected?, students have become junior conservationists by learning to spot the difference between living and nonliving things, exploring how we classify animals and plants, understanding life cycles and discovering how food chains work. Each student has taken on the role of an advocate for a chosen animal, creating displays that show the animal’s habitat, its role in an ecosystem and the human impacts affecting its survival. You will have the chance to “invest” a coin in the animal you feel most inspired to protect. Just a fun way to support the messages of conservation and care our students are sharing. We can’t wait to welcome you to this exciting celebration of learning, life and the environment!
Year 5 & 6 - Wild Wonders: A Journey Through Threatened Species
The Year 5/6 community is proud to invite you on an extraordinary expedition through the diverse habitats of Oceania and Asia! Step into our Wild Wonders Showcase, where passionate young researchers become wildlife ambassadors. After weeks of deep inquiry, investigation, and creativity, students are ready to share their findings on some of the world’s most threatened and endangered species. From the forests of Sumatra to the deep oceans of Australia, students will present captivating displays and thought-provoking research that shine a light on the animals that need our help — and how we can be part of the solution. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to explore the wild through the eyes of our budding conservationists. Be inspired, informed and amazed — we can’t wait to welcome you!
Congratulations to all of the CCK students who have been engaged in the learning over the term and have produced such great products of their learning.
