Wellbeing Day 2023: Celebrating "We All Belong"

Dear Lyndhurst Primary School Community,

Lyndhurst Primary School's Wellbeing Day on Friday, August 25th, 2023, was a resounding success, and it's all thanks to your participation and support! This year's theme, "We All Belong," truly embodied the spirit of inclusivity and unity.

"No matter where we come from, our backgrounds, or our stories, we're all part of this big, beautiful tapestry called life." These words set the tone for the day, reminding us that our uniqueness is what makes our community stronger. Each smile, kind word, or listening ear contributed to making someone feel like they truly belong, and that's something truly special.

The energy on the day was electrifying, right from the start. From the music room stage, we gazed out at a sea of students dressed in rainbow colours, dancing, and wholeheartedly participating in the various activities with friends and family.

Our Wellbeing Day featured an array of workshops focusing on social, mental, and physical health. Some highlights included:

Mindfulness and Deep Breathing: Our preps discovered the importance of mindfulness and deep breathing through the fun activity of bubble making and blowing.

Gratitude and 'Bucket Fillers': Grade 2 students learned about gratitude and how to be 'bucket fillers,' spreading positivity and kindness.

Healthy Eating: Grade 5 students explored healthy eating and even had the chance to make nutritious protein balls in our school kitchen.

'Belong' Workshop: Grade 6 students participated in a 'Belong' workshop by Project Rockit, emphasizing that each one of us matters, and we all have the power to make everyone feel like they belong.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to those who made this day possible:

Woolworths: We are grateful for their donation of fresh fruit and supplies that kept us nourished throughout the day.

Project Rockit and Bike'n'Blend: Your involvement enriched the workshops and added an extra layer of excitement to the event.

Lisa Howells, Katrina Mills and Chloe Mills: Thank you for providing our staff with a delicious sandwich bar, keeping our energy levels up.

However, our most special thanks go out to our incredible staff at Lyndhurst Primary School. Your dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm in running sensational workshops truly made the day unforgettable.

As we wrap up this year's Wellbeing Day, let's carry forward the spirit of "We All Belong" into our everyday lives. Together, we can continue to build a community where every member feels a deep sense of belonging.

Thank you for being a part of this wonderful day.

Warm regards,

Simone SmithStudent Wellbeing Coordinator.
