Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

It has been a great week at school as we see the signs of Spring on the way. I'm sure warmer days and flowers out lift everyone's spirits.

The weekend Masses of the 26th and 27th of August will be times when our students intending to be Confirmed in the faith are able to continue their enrolment for this. Confirmation is on Sunday 22nd October at 4pm for our students.

Tomorrow our senior students play a Lightning Premiership against our local schools at Mahogany Rise PS in the Pines.  This concludes our local sport and  I would  like to congratulate the students on their efforts and for the pride with which they represented our school. Again, thanks to the parents who assisted and supported the teams.

This week we have celebrated Book Week which commenced with our Celebration Day and Book character parade Monday morning. What a great day everyone seemed to have. Our Foundation- Year 2 students will be going to an excursion to the Library as part of their celebration of Book Week tomorrow.

A reminder that this Saturday  we will be holding our Trivia Night at 7pm. With a Studio 54 theme we expect it will be the glamour event of the year and the staff are already working on their costumes. Hope to see as many of you there, and your friends, as can join us. Thanks to the hard working P and F team for their work in putting this event together.

Last Friday we held a casual clothes day to raise funds to support a social justice program. This day was organised by our 1/2 classes and they will now vote on where they will allocate the $260 raised to. I believe the students will be voting as to whether the funds go to our local JPC food van or a specified project through World Vision or Caritas. It is great to see such an important gospel teaching being lived out by our students.

Next week is an incredibly busy one for the school. Our Community Engagement Leader, Mrs Winduss, has organised for a variety of organisations to attend the school to speak to the students during Health and Safety Week. On Tuesday we will hold our annual Fathers Day Celebration Morning which is always well attended. Wednesday the students might be able to pick up a surprise for dad with our Fathers Day Stall being held. On Thursday our Fire Carrier Leaders will be attending McLelland Gallery with other leaders from our cluster of schools for a day of learning. Thanks to Miss O'Donnell for organising this. Thursday evening our Foundation teachers will be leading the 2024 Foundation Information evening and on Friday musician Drew Lane will be returning to our school to work with the Year 4, 5 and 6 students on composing a school song.

Hope you have a great weekend and God Bless
