School Production
For the past few months, a number of talented students from years 5 to 10 have been participating in a number of rehearsals each week, working towards our school production of “We Will Rock You”. The hard-working group have been meeting with great enthusiasm, bringing together their skills in singing and acting to showcase US rock band Queen’s very own musical.
“We Will Rock You” takes place in a bleak future where all music has gone underground, and the world is ruled by the fearsome Killer Queen. Our heroes Galileo Figaro and Scaramouche make it their quest to break free and bring music back to a soulless world, finding many supporters and obstacles along the way. The show is filled with a multitude of adapted hit Queen songs such as “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, “I Want it All” and of course the classic rock anthem, “We Will Rock You”.
All students from Foundation to Grade 6 have been learning a song and dance to accompany our lead characters, and we are looking forward to a number of secondary students to support the show in a variety of backstage and front of house roles. We are also thrilled to involve all students from Inglewood Primary School during the show with the F-6 performances, and in several solo roles.
Tickets are now available through the SRC during lunchtimes in the library, and will be available at the door. Prices are $5 for school age and below, $10 for adults. Students in the performance (including all cast and all class performances) do not need to purchase tickets.
We look forward to seeing our community come and support our students on Friday, September 1 at Wedderburn College’s KLC for our one night only event!
