A 5 Star School

Rejuvenating the Bush Tucker Garden

The Bush Tucker Garden is finished! In a combined effort between the Baring Djuwima Indigenous student group, Green Magpies, Green Gurruks, Mrs Ladd, Mr I, Pete and the Sustainability Teachers (Mrs Salm, Miss Chamings and Mrs Davey), we planted out the Bush Tucker Garden. It was so exciting and it looks amazing! We have a local section with salt bush, pig face and yams and also a non-local section with a Macadamia Nut tree, Black Mountain Pepper and lots of other goodies. Thanks to one of our Grandmas - Miggy Mayer - who donated a Kangaroo Apple Tree from her personal collection. The students have excellent planting skills and knowledge.

Phoenix FM Radio Visit

On Friday 18th August, 4 Green Magpies (Sophia, Issy, Rylie and Millie) spoke on air with John Pearce and Janine Barker from Phoenix FM, about all things Green Magpies! The students were very confident and articulate. They climbed back in the car and said: 'That was so much fun, can we go back?'
