Principal's Report
Principal’s Report 18th August
LEADERSHIP UPDATE
The Leadership Team were once again joined by our School Captains, Miller H & Charlotte P, for the latter part of our meeting. Miller and Charlotte were able to provide us with updates and we once again set some actions for them to complete. We are also looking to introduce a School Captain’s Report as an assembly item each week so watch this space in the coming weeks.
Today is my last day in the Acting Principal position and it has definitely been an interesting learning journey. What a great opportunity to gain insight into all the behind-the-scenes work that goes on in keeping a school our size running smoothly. I’ve had to keep up-to-date with DET emails, have submitted enrollment projections for 2024, overseen that various data sets have been made ready according to the DET timeline and signed so many documents and so many times that I started to question whether my signature was actually accurate. And assembly; the staff will be able to tell you what a feat this has been to me and I am very glad to be handing the stage back to Mrs Walker who returns on Monday 21st Aug.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Ms Alicia Stevens for stepping into the Acting AP role and overseeing the Year 4, 5 & 6 sub-school. We are always grateful for the way in which staff at Lyndhurst step up to support and assist with changes, and in doing so demonstrate a great level of professionalism and growth.
PARENT/CAREGIVER/GUARDIAN OPINION SURVEY - Reminder
The 2023 Parent Opinion Survey is currently open and we request that families take the time to complete this survey. Your opinions are important to us and will inform, contribute and direct the future management and organisation of our school.
DISTRICT ATHLETICS
On Wednesday 16th August, 45 students represented Lyndhurst PS at the Narre Warren District Athletics Carnival. Below is a write up from Mrs Hunter, one of our Phys Ed teachers:
On Wednesday the 16th of August 45 enthusiastic students represented Lyndhurst Primary School at the Narre Warren District Athletics Carnival. Prior to the day, many students attended training opportunities during their lunch breaks to build their confidence and refine their techniques. We appreciate the students who were placed in additional events at short notice; thank you for your ‘give it a go’ attitude.
On the day, the sun shone brightly, as did the effort and sportsmanship displayed by the students in our team. Our students should be proud of their personal achievements, as well as their support of each other.
Outstandingly, Lyndhurst Primary School placed 4th out of 7 competing local schools. Individual placings and associated division progression will be published when we have received the official results - so be sure to access the next Physical Education newsletter report.
I believe that 4th is our highest placing at District level!
Go team Lyndhurst!!
