New Chaplain/Wellbeing Officer

Hi, I am Linda and I thought I would introduce myself to the wider school community.  I am the new Chaplain/Wellbeing Officer at Ardlethan Central School.

My role is to provide social, emotional and pastoral support to enhance student welfare and their academic engagement. This is done through one on one mentoring , coaching and support during personal challenges.

I also am available to help to connect families with external services by liasing  between the school, local services and government agencies.

My aim is to enhance and promote a safe, inclusive and positive school enviroment .

Please feel free to contact the school if you would like to meet with me over any concerns you may wish to discuss.

Weeks 3-4: Belonging and Connection

A sense of belonging is one of the strongest protective factors for young people’s mental health. This fortnight, students explored what belonging means, where they feel it, and how to build it for themselves and others.

Lessons covered: inclusion vs exclusion; how active listening builds real connection; why kind words are community-builders; and practical ways to reach out when things feel hard.

At home: Ask your child who they feel most connected to at school. What did that person do to make them feel included?
