School Saving Bonus (SSB) Balances (family credits)

  • CSEF: All families who met the eligibility requirements for CSEF funds have just received the funds, and they have been added to your family account balance.
  • School Savings Bonus balances are now credited to family accounts and will be allocated to student camps, excursions, and school activities.  Parents will still need to provide consent.

Use of CSEF & SSB Funds

  • Some common examples of school-organised programs for which a CSEF or SSB payment may be used include: Camps, Excursions & sport activities.

Allocation of Funds

  • Parents will still be asked to provide consent for events Via Compass; however, the amount due will be adjusted if credits are available.  For example, the event will show the reduced amount or a $0 balance for the activity, and parents will still need to give consent. If you do not want the school to automatically allocate funds on your behalf, please contact the office.
  • Credit balances carry over into the new year and can remain on the family statement.
  • Families who have more than one child at the same school can combine (or pool) their CSEF and SSB to use on one child or for a specific activity (for example, a camp).

If you have any queries, please email the school: wheelers.hill.ps@education.vic.gov.au

Parent Helpers & Volunteers @ WHPS

We appreciate the many ways parents contribute to the school, from serving on committees, helping on excursions, classroom learning and events.

All parent helpers, volunteers, and Visitors must show their Working With Children Card every time they volunteer at the school or on an excursion.

The card must be presented to the Office every time you sign in at the School Office (when volunteering at school or as a parent helper on an excursion).

For more information on the Working with Children Card and applications, please visit: Home | Working with Children.

Late for School?

A reminder that it is the parent/carer's responsibility to sign students in at school after the morning bell (students cannot sign in).

How to sign a student in when student/s are late:

  • Parent and student to sign in via the Compass kiosk at the school office.
  • You will be asked for a reason for being late.
  • The kiosk will notify the school and teacher that the student is in the school and on the way to the classroom.

Early Student Departures or Pickup?

Compass Attendance Note

  • Add a compass note for each student with the time your child will be collected and the reason.
  • Come to the school office at collection time to sign the student out.

At the School Office (no later than 3:15 pm)

  • Parents must come to the office to sign students out.
  • Time permitting, we will call the classroom and request the student to come to the office for parent pickup.

Please note that students are actively learning in their classrooms until 3:30 pm, and with over 690+ students across various locations, we can't contact every student for early collection after 3:15 pm.

General Office Hours

Please note that students are only supervised at school until 3:45 pm. After this time, there is no active supervision of students, as staff attend meetings and other activities.

For Student safety, if any student has not been collected, we will bring them to the office and call parents and emergency contacts for urgent collection.  Please note the office closes at 4 pm (sharp).  Students who remain will receive an urgent SMS alert from the DET Cases21 system that a child has not been collected and that the student's emergency contacts have been called for urgent collection.

We strongly suggest you register your child at our OSHC for days when you may be late or unable to collect them on time.  Registration is free, and casual bookings are welcome (space permitting). Register at:  https://parent-portal.kidsoft.com.au/find-a-place?URLCode=WheelersHillOSHC
