Assistant Principals' Report

Curriculum Day - Friday 5th June
Friday 5th June is a Curriculum Day and therefore a student‑free day. On this day our Primary Years staff will be engaged in professional learning focused on connection and explicit teaching, a key pedagogy approach that will strengthen the College's instructional model.
Homework in Primary Years
Homework expectations in the Primary Years are for all students to complete five nights of reading a week and for our Year 5 & 6 students to complete a weekly Maths task.
Teachers regularly track students' completion of homework by checking students' diaries and Maths homework, and use this information to assess home learning in their reports.
If your child requires a new student diary or you need support with establishing a good home reading routine please see your child's teacher.
House Assembly
Last Friday, students attended their House Assemblies led by House Leaders and Captains. This was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with students in their houses and new staff. Houses celebrated students who had received the highest house points in their house and discussed how to support and cheer respectfully. A huge congratulations to Daisy from Prep A, who has the most house points in the Primary Years with an amazing 90 points.
At House Assembly, leaders announced our House Performing Arts Theme for 2026. Our Student Representative Council sought ideas from our student body and a theme was voted on by each class. We are very excited to announce that the theme for 2026 House Performing Arts is Together on the Field. This theme brings together our passion for performing with sports. It encourages themes of celebration and teamwork. We are very excited to start rehearsing next Term and of course our final performance at the end of the term.
Rubbish Warriors
Our student-led Rubbish Warriors initiative continues to celebrate and unite students with a passion for the environment. Over the past two weeks, we have seen many of our Prep students get involved, collecting buckets and tongs to help clean up our school.
Harriet, Stella, Gurmanjot and Harrison are our dedicated Rubbish Warriors leaders. They attend the office every recess and lunch to collect names for house points and hand out stickers. Over the past two weeks, our leaders have also been running random double house point days to boost participation.
A big thank you to Ms V for supporting our leaders with this initiative. We are thrilled to see it continuing into its second year. We are incredibly proud of our student leaders and the commitment they bring to this important initiative.
