Principal's Report

JUST 6 DAYS OF THE 2023 SCHOOL YEAR LEFT

The final week or two of the school year is an odd mixture of winding down, in terms of the academic rigour in classrooms, but also winding up as there are lots of end of year events and activities.

Over the past week we’ve had the 5-6s enjoy a day at the pool, the Buninyong Campus 1-2s had a late stay and sleepover, the whole Scotsburn Campus had a sleepover, the preps had their big breakfast, our first evening of parent teacher interviews were held yesterday and today we have orientation day and are hosting all of next year’s preps.  So, it has been a busy week and all of these events have gone really well.  Well done to all involved.

Attached you can see photos from each of these events.

Things aren’t slowing up just yet, as over the coming week we have more parent teacher interviews, the ‘meet your teacher’ session on Thursday, the preps are off to the movies on Friday, the Scotsburn community has it’s end of year concert/breakup on Monday, we have the grade 6 graduation event next Tuesday before finishing up with a whole school assembly and Christmas dress up on the last day of school. These events give everyone something to look forward to in the remaining days of school.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS FOR 2024

This afternoon we will be gathering all of the students who applied to be part of one or more of the Scholarship Programs for 2024.  As mentioned last week we have been blown away by the volume and quality of applications and all that applied should be proud of their efforts.

We have big plans for each of the scholarship programs, with each of them kicking off in the second week of term 1 next year.

Meet Your Teacher – As mentioned last week, we have been working on class groupings and on Thursday students get the opportunity to meet their new teacher for 2024.  Please encourage your child/ren to approach the Meet Your Teacher session with a positive mindset.  Our aim is for all students to enter these transition periods with the confidence they need to achieve success.  The attitude our children take to this will be shaped by trusted adults around them.

Parent Contributions - A document outlining financial contributions we are seeking from parents was sent home last week in hard copy form.  If this hasn’t made it to you yet, please check your child’s bag.  Please give the office a call if the contribution request form didn’t make it home.

As a public school, we rely heavily on parent contributions to provide your children with the resources and programs you expect and thank you in advance for this support.  If you have any questions regarding financial contributions or would like to set up a payment plan, please contact our Business Manager, Trudy Coles by calling the general office.
