From The Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Carers,

The school year is off and running.  It was a great start to the year with our 91 Preps commencing their school term on Monday and they all appeared to settle in smoothly.  The rest of the classes in the school have been well and truly settled into school and our new learning to learn program has meant our teachers and students have a very clear understanding of how to learn in their particular Grade level and transitioned well into their new grades.

Uniform

It is wonderful to see our students coming to school in the correct uniform.  I had a visitor from another school comment on how great our students looked.  We do have hats for sale at the front office given there were some issues with getting them from Beleza.  As a sun smart school we do expect to see all our students with school logoed hats on whilst outside in Term 1.

Lunchtime programs

We pride ourselves on providing a range of lunchtime programs for the students at playtime, to provide a sense of connectedness to DPS.  The Library and Deck areas are open every day from 2.00pm for quieter activities  and are staff supervised. Parent Liaison Group

One of the ways as a parent you can become involved in the school is through the Parent Liaison Group.

The Parent Liaison Group aims to meet with school leadership members twice each term to discuss issues that are important to the effective running of the school. For example, the team will discuss issues like school reports, Parent Teacher Interviews, Special events such as Mother’s day stall and raise any general matters that may assist the school to improve. These discussions allow the school leadership to get the parent perspective in order to plan more effectively for the future.

In order to get a cross section of parent representatives, we are looking for parents across a range of year levels to join the team.

The first meeting will be on Thursday 22nd February 2.30pm - 3.20pm in the Re-set room.

Parents & Friends
