Physical Education

Hello from your new Physical Education teacher, Miss Knight.

I thought I would take this opportunity to quickly introduce myself.

Some of my hobbies are playing sport (especially netball), reading and doing any form of art. I have a beautiful dog called Winnie; she’s a Groodle. I love Italian food and the team I go for in the AFL is the Melbourne Demons.

I’m loving meeting the Weeden Heights community, and I am looking forward to getting to know you all better.

The Arts

Hi! My name is Ms Phillips, and I am your new Visual Arts and Performing Arts Teacher. Last year I was a Yr 1 teacher, but I'm so excited to be teaching music again, which is my expertise and my happy place! We will be learning lots about reading and making music, dance and drama, as well as exploring lots of artists and artistic styles.

It's been lovely meeting all the students, and I look forward to working with you all!

French

Bonjour tout le monde (Hello everyone),

I hope you all had des super vacances (great holidays).

I am looking forward to continuing teaching French to all the students of Weeden Heights and to creating lots of new activities to cater to all types of learners: floor games, quizzes, films, songs, craft, French culture and history, French food, French competition, etc.

  • In Grade Prep/1, we will start the Term with numbers and colours.
  • In Grade 2, we are going to study famous Parisian landmarks, with a main focus on Notre-Dame Cathedral.

  •  In Grades 3/4, the students will learn about the amazing life of Marie Curie.
  • In Grades 5/6, we are going to use an interesting illustrated book to continue learning the structure of simple sentences.

I will show you samples of the students' work in the next newsletter.

Passez une bonne semaine (Have a nice week).

A bientôt,

Delphine
