The BIG Summer Read is a Victorian statewide summer reading campaign for children and young people that runs from 1 December until 31 January. The BIG Summer Read is open to anyone aged 0-18 and it's easy to get involved! It aims to encourage children to read for pleasure and addresses the issue of the 'summer slide'. This refers to the loss of literacy experienced over the long summer break if children are not exposed to books or reading.

Drop into a branch and collect a paper reading log. Or register using the Beanstack app. Don't forget to select Frankston City Libraries as your primary library service so we can include you in our prize draw. Special thanks to PARC, Frankston Arts Centre, Water Bikes Australia, Frankston's Street Art Walking Tours, Sk8house, Quest Apartments, and Betty's Burgers for supporting this initiative.
