A Message from Parents & Friends
Hi everyone,
Welcome back and we really hope that you all had a fantastic summer holiday. We would really like to extend a welcome to all our new families joining AGPS this year - we would love to see you become involved in our community and events.
Here’s an update from us for Term 1.
We are pleased to announce that our focus for fundraising this year is for a screen and sound system for under Gumbuya to support our community events and assemblies.
Friday Treats
Friday treats for the remainder of this term will be icy poles. These will be $1.50. It is recommended especially for the new preps that a wallet or an envelope is sent containing the money - you wouldn’t believe how much money gets lost each week.
Upcoming Events
Bunnings BBQ Altona North - Saturday 17th February
Make sure you come along and support our team on Saturday at Bunnings Altona North who will be selling sausages and drinks to help raise funds towards our sound system. We are still in need of a few volunteers (huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far).

This is a great way to get involved for all the working parents out there and anyone who wants to meet new members of our school community.
Family Fun Night - Friday 1st March
Please ensure you have this date in your diary for our school’s family fun night. Details were posted on Compass. Parents & Friends are currently working through logistics and food trucks with further announcements to come.
Community Cookbook 2024 (but we need you now)!
We have been busy over the last few weeks putting together the Community Cookbook thanks to all the recipes received.
We launched this week (via Compass) a competition for children and/ or their families to design the front and back cover
Please make sure that you have returned the sheet to your child/ren’s teacher by Thursday 22nd February.
This book will be available to purchase from mid-March.
Harmony Week Bake Sale - Thursday 21st March
This is so popular that we’re making it an annual event! In celebration of Harmony Week, we shall be running a bake sale during the day and after school for anyone who wishes to bake or purchase a cake.
Further details along with guidelines will be sent out in the coming weeks so get your aprons on and your whisks ready!
Hot Cross Bun Drive
We will soon be issuing ordering details for our annual Hot Cross Bun Drive. Please keep an eye out for this . The distribution date will be Wednesday 27th March.
Easter Raffle Draw - Thursday 28th March
We will be running an Easter Raffle during March where winners will be picked during the last assembly during Term 1. If you wish to donate any Easter items to this (including any nice gift baskets), please can you drop via the office.
Parents & Friends
Our next meeting is Friday 8th March - we’re meeting in the Team Kids room at 9 am. We really look forward to welcoming you all to these meetings.
