3/4 Nature Connection Orienteering Excursion

Specialist Inquiry Program + STEAM & HPE

Hopefully you heard enough stories through your child so that I can keep the text brief and just share all of the photos that we took on the two days. We had a wonderful time and the students really rose to the occasion, navigating their way around the 1km loop on their own, with adults stationed at the eight checkpoints to help them get the most out of each activity. Seeing students out of the classroom, engaging with our natural world, brought me a lot of joy and I think it brought out the best in so many of the students. I look forward to seeing how this experience can shape the projects in our specialist community inquiry program, and to see how we can further build our connection to the natural world here in our own school yards and nurture student wellbeing in this way.

Importantly, I want to send a HUGE thank you to the parents who volunteered to help out! We honestly couldn't have run this excursion without you and you made an enormous difference!

On 6th we had: Nancy (Marlo's mum), Steve (Florence H's dad), Sarah (Emma's mum), Charlotte (Mathilde's mum), and Perla (Max MG's mum).  Thanks also to Sarah (Kiki's mum) who was going to help but couldn't at the last minute due to illness.

On 13th we had:  Maryanne (Rudi's mum), Josh (Henry's dad), Lauren (Leyla's mum), Kathy (Olivia's mum) and Chrissie (Billie's mum).

I hope that you can open this movie that Raúl kindly put together of the two excursions.

Warm regards,

Nerida
