Wellbeing & Partnerships

Lunch Clubs!
Our lunch time clubs have been very popular this fortnight. Miss N had a particularly large group of children in the Lego Masters clubs where they created a new town called Brickston and joined into Mini-Figure Madness! So too, the Wellbeing Trolley of Fun has encouraged the children to get out and about with skipping ropes and hula hoops. If you have any LOL toys lying around unused, we would be grateful for any donations.
Parent Support
This week, we have recieved information about a therapy group called Arliam Allied Health who currently have spaces available for Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology sessions. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Happy Families
We hope you enjoyed last fortnight's offerings of the ''Happy Families'' articles. Our next 2 articles are attached below. This fortnight we have a piece about acknowledging different perspectives when parenting. The other article, "Parenting with Influence, Not Control " focuses on 3 key words to consider to effectively interact with our children during challenging times: explore, explain, empower. If you would like to share any feedback about these articles, please email admin@safranksth.catholic.edu.au
Bullying No Way
This year St Augustine's participated in the Bullying No Way: National week of action, 12 to 16 August 2024. Bullying No Way Week is a commitment made by thousands of schools and supporters across the country. It provides an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to bullying prevention. It gives us an opportunity to connect with students, staff and school communities to implement workable solutions to prevent bullying.
The colour for the campaign is purple – symbolising peace, strength and empowerment to take a stand against bullying behaviour.
The theme for this year's campaign is Everyone belongs. This theme highlights the importance of creating a sense of belonging and inclusion for students. We recognise bullying often thrives in environments where individuals feel marginalised or excluded, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that every student feels valued and respected.
“Positive school climates that value diversity and inclusion can foster a sense of belonging and provide a protective factor against negative peer relationships and reduce bullying.” (Australian Education Research Organisation 2023).
For more information about Bullying No Way Week and bullying prevention, visit the Bullying No Way website. During the week we engaged students in meaningful discussions and activities aimed at promoting empathy, understanding, and respect for diversity.
Would you like to be a helper in our school?
At St A's, we really value any additional help from members in our wonderful community. There are a number of ways you can contribute by supporting the staff and children, such as: Excursions, Athletics days, Interschool Sports, Mother's Day/Father's Day events, Cooking & Gardening sessions and so much more! If you are keen to join in, please make sure you have a current Working With Children Check.
