Year 3 and 4 students learning Chinese characters

During Book Week students explored the story of the 'Long-Haired Girl', a character in the folktales of the Dong ethnic minority in China. The Dong people lived in a type of traditional wooden building called "diao jiao lou" (stilt houses), which are mostly built beside mountains and rivers, supported by wooden pillars. They discussed the architecture and lifestyle of different cultures to gain a broader understanding of how environment and tradition influence daily life.
