Children's Liturgy of the Word - St James Church - Sunday 9th Sept - 11am Mass

This Sunday, on the 9th of September, the Richmond Catholic Parish will be introducing 'Childrens Liturgy of the Word' for children from Prep to Year 6. This will be happening during the 11am Mass at St James Church.

Children who attend Mass with their families will be invited to join for a Children's Liturgy of the Word. The children will leave the church at the beginning of Mass and return for the Offertory Procession.

The children will listen to the Word of God and have the opportunity to discuss the Gospel message and how they can practise this in their own lives. This will help them to develop their own understandings and relationship with God.

This will be run by myself and supported by a group of school parents/parish members. If you are interested in helping or being involved in some way I would encourage you to make contact with me.

I invite families to join us for the 11am Mass on Sunday 9th of September, where the children will have the opportunity to participate in the Children's Liturgy. This will take place each Sunday at St James Church beginning on the 9th September and then again after the holidays on the 13th of October, and weekly thereafter.

I am looking forward to seeing the children from Trinity at this Sunday's Mass for the Children's Liturgy.

Indigenous Literacy Day

This week we celebrated Indigenous Literacy Day at Trinity. This is an annual celebration across Australia of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ Stories, Cultures, and Languages.

Indigenous Literacy Day is held on the first Wednesday of September ‑ this year Wednesday 4 September. It is an opportunity for us at Trinity to share in the diversity of First Nations languages and cultures across Australia.

At Trinity, all classes were immersed in literature that has been written and illustrated by First Nations peoples. Here are three of the books that were launched on Indigenous Literacy Day that our students had the opportunity to read and respond to.

Students in 3/4VA have been learning to make their writing more interesting using figurative language.

Using a picture prompt, Jyrus made an exceptional start...

"As Sophia bounded and leaped across the brick rooftops, like a mystic animal, she stopped. She could feel the magic running through her veins..."

Speech Pathology in Schools- Speech Box

Staying in touch...

If at any time you would like to chat about the learning at Trinity, or you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning, please do not hesitate to see your child's teacher, or myself.
