SCHOOL PRODUCTION

Greenhills Primary School is proud to present The Jungle Book, a whole school musical production based on Kipling’s famous classic. Raised by a family of wolves since birth, Mowgli must leave the only home they’ve ever known when the fearsome tiger Shere Khan unleashes his mighty roar. Guided by a no-nonsense panther and a free-spirited bear, the young child meets an array of jungle animals. Along the way, Mowgli learns valuable life lessons as their epic journey of self-discovery leads to fun and adventure.

DONATIONS NEEDED

Hello Greenhills Community. We are asking if anyone has any spare animal onesies, dress ups or animal accessories (tails, ears, gloves) at home we can borrow or have donated to the Year 5/6 students for our 2024 ‘The Jungle Book’ Production.

We are also looking for any donations of brand new unopened face paint.

If you have any of these, please bring them to our front office and make sure the costumes you want returned have your name and grade clearly written on them so we can return them to you after the production.

HELPERS WANTED!

We are reaching out to see if there are any parents that would like to get some experience with face painting. We would love some volunteers with a current WWCC to come along to the production to assist with animal face painting.

The students of Greenhills will have some designs ready to go for any volunteers to copy (the face painting does not have to be exactly the same, it will just be a rough design).

Our production will be at Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre on the dates and times below -

Wednesday 18th September (Matinee - 12.00pm/ Evening 7.00pm)

Thursday 19th September (Matinee - 12.00pm/ Evening 7.00pm)

If you have any donations or would like to help, please contact Tegan Smith  tegan.smith@education.vic.gov.au

THANK YOU!

From the Year 5/6 Makeup and Costume Production Group

OFFICE NEWS

Attendance

If your child is not present in class and we have no explanation, then an email will automatically be sent to all family members at 10am. If you receive an email, it is important that you explain their absence ASAP (click the link in email).  If your child is going to be away for a full day or more, please notify the school by entering the absence on Compass, rather than email the teacher. You can do this easily in Compass.

If your child is going to be absent for a family holiday or other long period of time, an email should be sent requesting this leave to James Penson prior to the event: james.penson@education.vic.gov.au

Student Arrival/Departure

If you need to collect your child early for an appointment, please come to the office to sign them out.  We are unable to have students waiting in the office, so please allow time to sign out and collect from the classroom (the office will advise if they are in a Specialist class). Please collect your child before or after recess and lunch times as they may not hear the announcements during these times.

Recess time 10.55 - 11.25, Lunch time 1.30-2.20pm.

If your child arrives at school after 9.00am (after the morning bell has finished) you must come to the office with them to be signed in for a late pass

Please do not send students straight to their classroom after 9.00am.

If you have any questions at any time about the above information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
