Learning News 4/5/6

Mrs Amy Phillips

Peter Pan has really gained momentum this week with our first rehearsal at the playhouse. The students are now familiar with the stage layout and their positioning for each scene, which has been a tremendous help. We encourage all students to continue practicing their lines with expression at home, as we’re eager to see them perform confidently without the need for scripts.

A big thank you to Mrs. Whyte for designing and printing our fantastic posters and tickets. Posters have been distributed around town, and tickets are now available for purchase at our school office. These are expected to sell out quickly, so make sure to secure yours soon! The playhouse has also arranged for food to be available at each show, which can be purchased or pre-ordered by calling the playhouse.

Year 4 Maths

The past week the children have been learning about all the features of 3D objects. They have all really enjoyed the hands on nature of this topic from building to sketching to making a zoo using a range of 3D objects.

Stage 3 Maths

We have moved from our Multiplicative Relations unit, to Area for the next two weeks. We have discovered that our learning and work around factors, multiples and mental strategies we worked on last unit are all being put to work for calculating area. I have set the students a challenge today, to calculate how much paint I need to paint one of my rooms this weekend... and they will get the feedback on Monday to see how they went!
