Principals' Message

Mrs Dominica Bearman

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the end of another busy and productive week. It is hard to believe that we are already in Week 4.

Diocesan Athletics

Congratulations to all the students who travelled to Tamworth last Friday to compete in the Diocesan Athletics Carnival. It was a wonderful carnival and our students were a credit to our school. They competed enthusiastically and cheered each other on throughout the day. Congratulations to the four students who made it to the next level which is the Polding Carnival to be held in Newcastle on Friday 13th September.

Peter Pan Musical

Information about how to secure your tickets for our school musical was sent home yesterday via facebook. I encourage you to book your tickets for the Thursday evening performance early, as they will go quickly!

Winter Uniform

The wearing of a school uniform promotes a sense of belonging for students and creates a positive identity for the school community. School uniforms also contribute to the personal safety of students by allowing easier recognition of students inside the school and the community. It is a requirement at St Joseph’s Primary Barraba that students wear the correct school uniform when travelling to and from school, during school hours and when engaged in school activities outside of normal school hours.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

Over the past weeks, we have been working closely with the Armidale Catholic Schools Office to tighten our approaches to student attendance. We ask that families continue encouraging their children to attend school daily. The impact of having days off is visible in the children’s learning outcomes and continues through their life choices in years to come. The following tables show the data on missing school.
