What A Wonderful Wellness Week It Was!

Last week, our college came alive with the vibrant energy of Wellness Week; a time dedicated to celebrating the importance of self-care and community spirit. Each day was carefully designed to focus on different aspects of wellbeing, creating a holistic approach to maintaining balance and happiness.

Monday set the tone with mindful activities, highlighting the importance of pausing and reflecting amidst the busyness of our daily lives. Students engaged in practices that fostered calm and focus, including working with playdough and colouring-in.  These activities reminded us that mindfulness is key to navigating our challenges with grace.

On Tuesday, teamwork took centre stage. It was truly inspiring to witness over 700 students (Pre-school to Year 12) and 120 staff members coming together to form the Olympic rings. This remarkable display not only highlighted our collective strength but also celebrated the Olympic spirit that drives us to support and uplift each other. It was a vivid reminder of how collaboration and unity can create something extraordinary.

Wednesday focused on wellness, reminding us of the importance of taking care of our mental and physical health. Through various activities and workshops, we explored ways to nurture ourselves and build strength, ensuring that we are equipped to face life’s demands with a positive outlook.

Thursday’s theme of gratitude invited us to reflect on the many blessings in our lives. By expressing thankfulness, as seen on Talbot Grove, we deepened our connections with one another and recognised the value of every small gesture of kindness and support.

Finally, Friday’s emphasis on fitness invigorated us all, from participating in yoga or Just Dance we were reminded how physical activity contributes to our overall wellbeing. It was heartening to see so many participants embrace the joy of movement and the benefits it brings to our lives.

Let’s remember Wellness Week, let’s carry forward the lessons learned and continue to prioritise our wellbeing, both individually and as a community. Together, we make our Loreto community stronger and more vibrant.

I want to acknowledge the staff for their support of this important week and Ms Lydia Baccanello for her superb leadership in bringing this event to life.
