Grade 4 Camp- CYC Melbourne

Our Grade 4 students had a fantastic time at camp in Melbourne, enjoying a variety of exciting activities. They started with a tour of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), where they learned about its history and importance of the grounds. Next, they explored the Melbourne Aquarium, where they saw incredible sea life up close and learned about underwater ecosystems.

Their adventure continued at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), where they interacted with engaging exhibits about film and digital media. The students were also thrilled to visit the Eureka Skydeck, which offered breathtaking views of the city.

To top off their trip, they had a blast ice skating, enjoying the fun and challenge of gliding on ice. The camp was a wonderful mix of learning, exploring, and making new friends, creating memories that our Grade 4 students will cherish for a long time.

Foundation- Langwarrin Fire Station

The foundation students recently had an exciting excursion to the Langwarrin Fire Station, where they had the opportunity to learn valuable fire safety skills. During their visit, the children were introduced to the importance of creating a fire safety plan, a crucial step in ensuring their safety in case of an emergency. They practiced essential fire safety techniques, including how to crawl low to avoid smoke and how to respond quickly with the "Go, Go, Go" method.

The students were thoroughly engaged and enjoyed hands-on experiences, such as exploring the fire trucks and getting a chance to operate the fire hose. The visit was not only educational but also a lot of fun, leaving the students with a greater understanding of fire safety and the roles emergency services play within our community.

Grade 2- Lego Land

On Wednesday, August 28th, the Grade 2 students headed to LEGOLAND. The children were captivated by incredible models of Melbourne, meticulously constructed from thousands of LEGO bricks.

The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the opportunity for the children to get hands-on with LEGO bricks. In a special play area, they used their creativity to build their own race cars, experimenting with different designs and competing to see whose creation could go the fastest. This activity not only sparked their imaginations but also allowed them to develop their problem-solving skills in a playful setting. Overall, the trip to LEGOLAND was a fantastic blend of education and entertainment, providing the Grade 2 students with a memorable experience filled with learning, creativity, and fun.
