Kindy Mud Day: Exploring Clay Through Play
On Tuesday 21 October, our Kindy students embraced the joy of getting messy during their Mud Day—a hands-on celebration of their inquiry into clay.
This term’s exploration focused on clay as a natural material, encouraging students to engage their senses, creativity and curiosity. During the morning, the children had the chance to touch, mould and shape the clay, discovering its unique texture and versatility.
The experience wasn’t just limited to art-making; students also explored clay through full-body sensory play, delighting in the chance to connect with the material in a tactile and imaginative way.
Kindy Mud Day provided a wonderful opportunity for students to express themselves, collaborate with their peers and build a deeper understanding of the world through play-based learning.
Junior School Digital Showcase
Earlier this week, Junior School students proudly presented their Digital Showcase, the culmination of a term’s worth of research, creativity and digital exploration.
Throughout Term 3, students worked on projects that reflected their growing curiosity about the world and their developing digital literacy skills. The showcase highlighted a wide range of themes—from Animals explored by our younger students to Design Thinking and thought-provoking presentations on AI, robotics, wellbeing and mental health by our older students.
Audiences were treated to an engaging mix of presentation styles, with students combining traditional displays and explanations with interactive digital elements such as iPad slideshows and QR codes.
The event offered a wonderful opportunity for students to share their learning journey with peers, teachers and families, while celebrating the innovative ways technology can enhance storytelling, communication and understanding.
