A Board Vacancy
All Saints’ College is pleased to invite Expressions of Interest from individuals interested in joining the College Board from February 2026.
In keeping with the Board’s commitments to prudent stewardship and effective governance, our Nominations Committee is keen to meet with experienced and qualified people who are able to share their expertise, experience and skills with the College (including its Fremantle campus The Studio School and Little Saints, our childcare centre) as it continues to build on its outstanding reputation as one of Australia’s leading educational institutions.
On this occasion, the Committee is keen to hear from experienced professionals in the following areas: (1) a strong and proven record in finance (CPA or CA qualifications essential; experience as a business owner, CFO, financial planner or mortgage broker would be beneficial, though not essential), and (2) non-executive directorship or executive / senior management experience.
Prospective Board members must be supportive of the Anglican ethos of the College, and relevant experience in governance and the completion of an AICD qualification or similar will be viewed favourably.
To learn more and/or to register your interest, please email the Chair of the College Board, Mr Gary Mack.
EOIs close at 5.00pm on Friday 21 November 2025.

Farewell to some long-serving staff
It is with sadness that we farewell at the year’s end some long-serving staff who are looking to retire, have a sea change or spend more time with family. Happily for us, though, many of these staff are keen to remain connected with the College via part-time or casual work, and we thank them for that and for their many years of dedicated service to the College. In chronological order, we acknowledge the following staff:
Mrs Christine Kroeger
Having joined the College in 2006, Mrs Christine Kroeger is a much-valued colleague whose 19 years of service and whose impact have been felt across all facets of ASC life, from classroom teaching to supportive leadership as Head of Murdoch. We are delighted that Christine is happy to continue to support ASC in the years ahead with relief and short-term cover, and we’ll gladly take her up on that kind offer!
Christine writes: “I shall certainly miss the daily interaction with the students and the staff in the very supportive, stimulating environment that is All Saints’ College… Thank you for the wonderful time I have enjoyed at All Saints’. I wish the College continued success and I shall take many fond memories with me when I depart.”
Mrs Deb Da Cruz
Since joining the College in 2008, Mrs Deb Da Cruz’s quiet commitment, steady presence and deep care for student learning have left a lasting mark on our classrooms and community. We extend our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to her as she steps into the next chapter which will see more travel and more time with her growing family. And the good news for us—Deb is also happy to accommodate relief and short-term cover work at ASC into the future, in between her travel and grandmotherly duties!
Deb writes: “Having started at ASC in 2006 doing relief work before holding a permanent role since 2008, many staff at the College have truly felt like family to me. I will deeply miss the students, my colleagues and the supportive environment that has made this such a special place to work… I’m incredibly grateful and will carry many fond memories with me.”
Mr Russ Haxby
Farewell also to Mr Russ Haxby who is embarking upon a “sea change”, heading to the southwest to live. Russ has been a valued member of the ASC community since 2008 and, in that time, he has contributed across multiple areas of College life, including our Transition team, the Mathematics Department and as Basketball Coordinator. We extend to Russ our sincere thanks for his outstanding service and wish him all the very best as he embarks on this exciting next chapter.
Russ writes: “I offer my heartfelt thanks for the support and opportunities provided to me during my years at the College.”
Ms Hayley Wellington
Ms Hayley Wellington has made the decision to relinquish her role—one she has held since 2010—for family reasons. Through her expertise in Media and Drama production, as well as collaborations with HotHouse and external directors, Hayley has enriched students’ experiences and expanded creative opportunities, and we are keen to take up her kind offer to do relief work at ASC and TSS into the future.
Hayley writes: “I have loved my career at All Saints', and will dearly miss my colleagues and students.”
Mrs Erin Harvey
Currently on leave, Erin will be relinquishing her substantive role at the College for family reasons. Since joining the College staff in 2011, Old Saint Erin has made a lasting impact through her passionate and inspiring work in Dance education. But, amidst the sadness of farewell, there is good news—“I too hope this is not goodbye”, writes Erin, who has confirmed that she is keen to explore ways in which she can continue to contribute and be involved in the life of the College in ways that fit with her current family commitments—an exploration in which we are most happy to participate!
Mr Phil Gale
Facilities Manager Mr Phil Gale, who joined the College in November 2013, has made the decision to retire at the year’s end to focus more fully on his house build, grandchildren and a few projects he’s long been wanting to do. Phil has had a significant influence on the successful construction of several ASC building projects over the years, where his skillset, deep industry knowledge, and practical and solution-focused approach have ensured these buildings are not just completed on time and budget, but are future-proofed for students and staff for years to come. Phil’s offer to continue to assist the College in the future is very much appreciated and will be gladly taken up!
Phil writes: “I have enjoyed my 12 years at All Saints’, and appreciate the time I have had in developing the campus and planning for the future.”
Ms Brette Lockyer
Currently enjoying a well-earned period of long service leave, Ms Brette Lockyer joined the College in 2014. While she has made the decision to retire from her substantive position—again, happily for us—she is open to exploring part-time opportunities that may arise at the College in the future. Over the course of more than a decade, Brette has helped shape our Junior School with heart, vision, and an unwavering dedication to literacy and a love of learning.
Brette writes: “I have felt very blessed to have been a part of ASC… Family, community, learning groups, advocacy campaigns all await!”
Ms Trish Harris
Our Head of Humanities and Social Sciences Ms Trish Harris will be leaving the College at the year’s end to explore her creative and travel passions. Having commenced at All Saints' in 2016, we thank Trish for the inspiration she has shared so generously, and for her leadership which has been marked by a great empathy and a joyful embrace of the “flearning” journey.
Trish writes: “My time at All Saints’ has been both professionally rewarding and personally meaningful. I have deeply known and embraced my ‘why’, so well aligned with the College. However, I believe the time is right for me to explore my creative and travel passions, and join my husband in retirement.”
Mr Nic Christie
Keen to prioritise this precious window in life for his family, and after nine years of dedicated service to ASC, Mr Nic Christie has made the difficult decision to not return to his role as Assistant Director of Junior School (Wellbeing) following his long service leave scheduled for Term 1 of 2026. Since joining ASC in 2017, Nic has made a profound impact on students, staff and families across our community. His leadership has been marked by kindness, deep reflection and unwavering integrity.
Nic writes: “I have been incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunities that All Saints’ has afforded me over the past nine years… my love for All Saints’ remains strong, and I would welcome the opportunity to explore future possibilities within the College.”
We thank these long-serving staff members, and all staff who are leaving ASC at the year’s end, for their dedicated service to our community.

Building a Culture of Care: Using the Shared Concern Method to Address Bullying
At our College, student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. One of the most important elements of creating a safe and supportive environment is how we respond to incidents of bullying. That is why we have adopted the Shared Concern Method—a restorative approach recommended by the Friendly Schools Plus Program—as part of our re-entry and wellbeing processes.
This method aligns with our commitment to empathy, accountability and growth. It empowers students to reflect on their actions, take responsibility and work collaboratively to repair relationships. Importantly, it also provides a pathway for those affected by bullying to feel heard and supported.
What is the Shared Concern Method?
The Shared Concern Method is designed to:
- Change the behaviour of students who have engaged in bullying.
- Improve the situation for a student who has been bullied.
- Foster empathy and concern among all involved.
- Equip students with strategies to build healthier relationships at school and at home.
How Does It Work?
Individual Conversations
Each student involved—whether they were bullying, being bullied or witnessed the incident—is invited to a one-on-one meeting. These conversations are respectful and non-judgmental.
Personal Reflection and Responsibility
Students are asked to reflect on the situation and suggest ways they can personally contribute to improving it. This encourages ownership and empathy.
Support for the Student Who Was Bullied
The student affected is given space to share their experience, and to explore strategies to feel safer and more supported.
Follow-Up and Growth
Ongoing meetings and planning help students put their new behaviours into practice in a supportive environment, reinforcing positive change.
Why It Matters
This approach doesn’t just resolve conflict—it builds character. By encouraging open dialogue and mutual respect, we are helping students develop lifelong skills in empathy, communication and resilience.
Families can also use elements of this method at home to support their children in navigating social challenges with confidence and care.

ASC Senior School Sustainability Club
The ASC Senior School Sustainability Club is happy to announce that we have officially changed our name to The Loraxes! And yes, it is a reference to the beloved Dr Seuss character, who ‘speaks for the trees’, for a fun name while still reflecting the club’s values of sustainability and our passion in making a difference for the environment, both within the College and beyond. We hope that our new name sparks curiosity and invites new students to be involved!
The Loraxes have recently launched a new initiative, “One Piece, One Change”,where each day every member of our school community picks up just one piece of rubbish. While it may not sound like much, those collective small actions can add up fast. So, help us in making a change by picking up a piece of rubbish today!
We encourage people to continue collecting empty plastic soy sauce sushi fish and caps (which are now banned in South Australia!) and plastic bread tags. Soy sauce containers will be used in recycled art projects and plastic bread tags will be sent to Aussie Bread Tags for Wheelchairs. Items can be dropped off at Nexus J and Nexus S.
Last term we had the wonderful opportunity to meet with the Rossmoyne Senior High School Bush Rangers – a group of high schoolers who, like us, are passionate about sustainability! We had a great time sharing our experiences from our clubs as well as the activities that we enjoyed. This inspired us to bring back our Sustainable Cooking project that will take place this term, along with several other activities such as the Aussie Bird Count and Climate Café. So, if that is something you are interested in, feel free to register and pop by!
