Principal's Message

Term 4-week 1

Welcome Back – We Hope You Had a Wonderful Holiday!

We hope you all enjoyed a relaxing and refreshing school holiday with plenty of time to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends. Whether you stayed local or travelled somewhere new, we hope you had a wonderful break.

As we begin a new term, we're excited to welcome everyone back with fresh energy and enthusiasm. There’s lots to look forward to in this last term of 2025 with the Grade 2 sleepover, Grade 1 late stay, 3/4  camp, graduation, transition, interschool sports, excursions, end of year events and our Pleasant Day Out.

Holiday Works Update Improvements Around the School

A lot of exciting improvements have taken place around the school over the holidays, helping to create a safer, more comfortable, and engaging environment for our students and staff.

With a few warm days on our side, the basketball courts received their several coats of blue paint, and they're already shaping up to look fantastic! Once completed, they'll provide an even better space for students to play, practice, and enjoy physical activity during breaks and PE lessons.

Inside the new building, we've continued to make progress too. Insulated walls have been installed between two Foundation classrooms and two of the 1/2 learning spaces, helping to reduce noise across these areas. This is a great step towards creating quieter, more focused learning environments for our students.

In our bushland area, we unfortunately had to say goodbye to three large trees, which were assessed and found to be unsafe. While it's always sad to remove trees, the safety of our students remains our top priority.

We also made an important safety improvement by relocating the skip bins to a safer position, well away from the goals on the oval. This ensures that students can enjoy playing in the area without obstruction or risk.

Planning for 2026  Student Departures

As we begin planning for the 2026 school year, it’s important for us to have an accurate understanding of our expected student numbers.

If your family is planning to leave Mount Pleasant Road Primary School at the end of this year, we kindly ask that you notify the school as soon as possible. This information helps us make informed decisions around class structures, staffing, and resource allocation for the year ahead.

You can notify us by contacting the school office or emailing the school directly.

We appreciate your support in helping us plan effectively for a smooth start to 2026.

 Intergenerational Program

Our kinder’s Intergenerational Program in the Budja group connects children with senior community members to build enjoyable and meaningful relationships. It creates opportunities for both generations to share experiences, knowledge, and skills in ways that benefit everyone involved.

Research shows that these interactions offer wonderful advantages for all ages, children gain a stronger understanding of their roots, while older participants experience greater positivity and improved health.

Each Monday is wonderful to see these relationshios building.
