🌟 TEDx Youth @ Saltwater – A Celebration of Student Voice and Ideas!

On Thursday, 23 October, our school was alive with inspiration, innovation, and powerful ideas as we hosted our very own TEDx Youth @ Saltwater event. The afternoon was a true celebration of student voice, where our young thinkers took to the stage to share their passions, experiences, and dreams for the future.

Our heartfelt thanks to our incredible speakers who captivated the audience with their thoughtful and thought-provoking talks: Niyanth Iyengar, Naivedhya Patan, Aaraiz Muhamad, Kayla Madu, Ahmad Mansoor, Lora Ma, Chrisma Adjetey, and Ayaana Bhardwaj. Your confidence, curiosity, and courage to share your ideas truly embody the spirit of lifelong learning we value at Saltwater.

A special mention also goes to our fantastic MCs, Elijah Peterson and Yazeed Kalifa, who guided the event with poise and energy, ensuring the audience remained engaged and inspired throughout.

We extend our sincere thanks to our secondary staff whose dedication made this event possible. Their guidance and encouragement behind the scenes ensured our students had the opportunity to shine in front of a proud and captivated audience.

Congratulations to everyone involved, what an extraordinary showcase of student leadership, creativity, and community spirit!

NO HAT, NO PLAY: Hats for Term One and Term Four

We would like to remind families of the importance of wearing a sun-smart hat during outdoor activities, including recess, lunch and Physical Education lessons. Students without hats will be required to refrain from play and stay in the shaded areas of the school. We understand that this is often an item of school clothing that can be easily lost. Please ensure that hats are clearly labelled with the student's name.

World Teachers’ Day

On Friday, 31 October, we celebrated World Teachers’ Day, a wonderful opportunity to honour and recognise our incredible teachers for the outstanding educators they are. We are incredibly proud of our teachers and grateful for all they do for our students each and every day!

We celebrated with a morning tea and special acknowledgment gift, joining together as a school community to honour our teachers. On behalf of our students, staff, and families, we say a huge THANK YOU TO OUR TEACHERS!

Prep - Year 5 2026 Transition Session on Thursday, 18 December

As we approach the end of the school year, our Prep to Year 5 students will have an exciting opportunity to participate in the 2026 Transition Program on Thursday, 18 December. This important day is designed to help students meet their new teachers and peers for the upcoming school year, giving them a chance to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings in a relaxed and supportive environment.

During the transition session, students will spend time in their future classrooms, engage in fun and interactive activities, and begin building relationships with their 2026 classmates. This day is all about helping students feel confident and comfortable as they move to the next stage of their education. We encourage parents to talk with their children about the day, reinforcing the excitement and positivity around meeting new friends and teachers.

We look forward to seeing our students flourish in this supportive, preparatory experience as they embark on the next chapter of their learning journey in 2026!

We look forward to meeting all our future Prep students and their families!
